NEARBY CROSSINGS, 2012

CrucesC-www.jpg

The installation consists of four silent, simultaneus projections of two different videos in loops. The projections show everyday traffic of pedestrians and vehicles in two crossings, in the downtown Mexico City and Valencia, Spain. The four screens form two corners and the images are repeated in two configurations. Multiple screens reproduce the polyphony of views and visual narratives between buildings and shop windows of the contemporary city. The presentation of similar places of the cities separated by thousands of miles has the intention to introduce the observer/participant to study his own everyday surroundings with a different regard, with the eyes of the foreigner

The video-installation is put together with four two faced screens of back projection, of apox. size of 3m x 4m each, hanging down to the ground.
