CLEARANCE, 2009
The installation consists of two simultaneous projections of the same silent video of the brush beeing cut with a power saw. Two screens cross perpendiculary in the center. This configuration activates the real space of the projections, while at the same time emphasizes the virtuality of the images confronted with the tridimensional structue of the set. The meaning of this video-installation is linked to the text of Martin Heidegger in which he explains the concept of space analysing the origin of the german word raum, which designates the action of clearance of space in the forrest for human dwelling: the construction of the space as the act of clearance.
The project of the installation CLEARANCE was presented, in the form of digital model, in the exhibition Explorer (LAZNIA Center of Contemporary Art, Gdañsk, Poland, 2009).
